Dubrovnik set along the beautiful Dalmatian Coast with the cities Perfectly preserved ancient stone walls and nestled between mountains on one side and turquoise Adriatic waters on the other. The City has certainly seen its hard times over the centuries, besieged by the Saracens, overtaken by the Venetians and then devastated by 1667 earthquake and then surviving Napoleon and the 1991-92 war but yet it stills shines in the Mediterranean sun. If there is ONE thing you must do in Dubrovnik, it’s walking the ancient city walls. You’ll get the best views of Old Town, along with an intimate look at local life as you pass by tiny backyards that are dotted with clothes lines and vegetable gardens. The setting for Game of Thrones is making Dubrovnik one of the most popular places to visit in Europe. The Game of Thrones guided tours are a must for any GoT fans as you will get lost searching the city for the unique setting of the programme. Cliff jumping at Buza is becoming quite popular. Café Buza is a great place for coffee, but also for sun bathing and cliff jumping.
The best views of the city are from the top Mt Srd. From here you can the most amazing views of old town Dubrovnik plus Lokrum island which is only 500m from the old town port. You can get a cable car to the top or If you’re feeling adventures then hike to the top. Once at the top grab a seat the Panorama restaurant and enjoy the spectacular view with a drink and some amazing food.
As the name suggests, Cave Bar More is located in a cave overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Enjoy some of the best food and wines the city has offer and watch the sun set of the Adriatic Sea or take a dip in the sea from the edge of the Restaurant. It has a quiet vibe during the day – perfect for relaxing and listening to the waves crash under you – but it definitely comes alive in the evening with music and dancing.
Dubrovnik is located pretty well for day trips to nearby sights. You could take a day trip to Bosnia or Montenegro, or visit Plitvice, Split or Zadar. There are lots of beautiful places nearby.
To Nairobi And Back 
I agree, the city wall walk was awesome. We went early in the morning before the sun became too relentless. No shade to be found up there!

I agree it got really hot walking around. Luckily there wasn’t many tourist when we done it so it was a nice stroll.

Are these your own photographs? They are brilliant. But Grrrrr, GOT tourists spoiled my time in Split (more than in Dubrovnik which was better able to space them out). They got in the way of real history, taking selfies, blocking lanes and stairways. I would like to see just a month or two set aside for GOT fans, or else set the tours with say an hour between them so that others could get a look at the very ancient past.

Yeah they are. When we explored the city walls we went really early in the Morning and were just really lucky there weren’t many tourist. I must admit there was a lot GOT tours. I’ve never seen GOT thrones so it also spoilt the history behind the walls. What time of the year did you go?
